Special SHEA Conference Initiatives

SHEA is pleased to announce two exciting new initiatives for the SHEA Conference, Advancing Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Stewardship.  Both of these initiatives are aimed at fostering research and identifying solutions in healthcare epidemiology.

Extended Deadline - Jan 20!The SHEA EPI Project:  Advancing Young Investigators in Healthcare Epi Research

The SHEA EPI Project is a competition designed to identify important research proposals that can shape our understanding of transmission, prevention methods and implementation issues. This unique first-time competition, directed toward young investigators, will award the winner a grant of $20,000 to conduct the study using the SHEA Research Network. The top 5 finalists will receive a $500 award from the SHEA Education & Research Foundation.

SHEA Research & Operations Troubleshooting Sessions (ROoTS)

Registered attendees may submit short descriptions of problems or questions in one of several categories related to study design, surveillance, operational management and data analysis. SHEA will identify expert teams to lead discussions on Day 1 and 2 of the training conference and on Day 4 (the last day of the Antimicrobial Stewardship meeting).
